How We Verify Every Claim
Every legal or numeric claim published on Car Real Talk goes through two mandatory gates before it ships: independent verification and automated tests. A claim that fails either gate does not publish. No overrides. No waivers. No exceptions.
Independent Verification
Before writing a single word on a legal or numeric claim, we run it through three independent verification systems. Verify-first, not verify-after.
Primary-Source Verification
Real-time web search with cited primary sources. our primary-source stack returns links to statutes, agency guides, and Federal Register documents. Those links are the evidence.
Independent second-opinion pass (search-grounded)
Independent second-opinion pass grounded against live web sources. If our second-opinion tool disagrees with our primary-source stack, we investigate before publishing.
Anti-Hallucination Reasoning Pass
Anti-hallucination reasoning pass. The system prompt directs our reasoning pass to distinguish between facts verifiable from training, facts needing live web check, and unknowns. Category (b) or (c) claims do not publish as fact.
Convergence rule. All three must agree on the material fact. If they diverge, we do not publish the claim as fact until we identify why they disagreed and which one is right.
Automated Tests
After drafting, before publish, every cell and article runs through a deterministic test suite. The tests do not use AI and do not have judgment discretion. Pass or block.
- Structural — every required section present, word count within band, minimum citation count met
- Statute format — every statute cite matches canonical format (
§ USC,§ CFR,O.C.G.A. §,FR) - URL live — every source URL returns a live HTTP response
- Identity check — no phrase that could inflate the author’s credentials beyond his canonical bio
- Residue check — no development artifacts, no LLM hedge phrases, no leftover placeholders
- Bilingual parity — for English/Spanish pairs, numerics, statute citations, source URLs, byline, and cell ID must be identical
No waivers. Any failing test blocks publish. Publish resumes only when the underlying issue is fixed.
Why we work this way
Legal-content mistakes have consequences readers do not always see until it is too late. A statute cited wrong. A refund window off by ten days. A penalty amount reflecting a rule that changed two years ago. A first-person credential claim that inflates the writer beyond what he actually earned.
In isolation, any of those is an editorial mistake. Cumulatively, they are a betrayal of trust. Our verification process exists so a reader who audits our work finds it holds up — not because we said so, but because the process is reproducible.
The public register — The Paper Trail
Every claim published on Car Real Talk carries a Ledger ID. The public Paper Trail lists each claim, the exact text as published, all source URLs, the verification date, and the current status. If we retract a claim, it stays in the Paper Trail with the retraction reason so the record shows our work.
No sponsors. No dealer money. No filter.
Real Talk Media Group LLC does not accept advertising or sponsorship revenue from the auto industry. No manufacturer, dealer, insurance carrier, warranty administrator, or F&I product placement fees. No in-kind compensation from the industries we cover.
This restriction is doctrinal, not policy — it applies at every level of the business, permanently, and cannot be waived. Our business model is direct consumer purchase of paid resources (Playbook, Advisory) and future subscriptions to the Compliance Library and Real Talk Search. Consumer-priced, consumer-paid.
If you see a Real Talk cell, article, or Paper Trail entry, you can be certain the writer was not paid by an interested party to write it.
How to audit us
Every published cell shows: primary source URLs, verification date, Ledger ID, and current status. Every published article shows: source URLs footnoted inline, Ledger IDs for load-bearing claims, byline (always Manny Ruiz · Real Talk Media Group), and a “Last Verified” date on every legal-numeric claim.
